Where 'Learning for All' comes alive!
Schoolhouse Playcare
Schoolhouse Playcare Centres of Durham, located at Williamsburg Public School has been a part of the school community since the opening in 2007.
Our programmes have provided care and education to many families in the neighbourhood since that time.
Our qualified staff provide a warm, nurturing learning environment for all children. We have an open door policy and welcome you to drop in for a visit any time the programme is in operation.
Caring for kindergarten and schoolage children, we offer a before and afterschool programme for children ages 4 to 12. Our adult/child ratio consists of 1:15 for those children 6 years of age and older and a 1:13 ratio for those children ages 5 years and younger. Full day programmes are available on P.A days, Christmas Holidays, and March Break.
A summer camp is also available during the months of July and August.
Our programme includes; Science, Math, Dama, Arts and Crafts, Music, Outdoor play and lots of fun!! We serve nutritious morning and afternoon snacks which follows the Canada Food Guide approved by a dietician and are an allergy aware, peanut-free facility.
With the support from the Durham District School Board and the Staff at Williamsburg, as of September 2009 and again in September 2011 Schoolhouse Playcare was able to expand their schoolage programme. We now offer a before and after school programme in room #103 and room# 106 and an afterschool only programme in room # 102.
