I am very excited to be introducing myself as Principal of West Lynde P.S. Although I am new to the role of Principal, I am not completely new to West Lynde Public School. Many families may remember me from my time here 5 years ago as Vice Principal. I am anxious to re-connect with those families and connect for the first time with all others. I am very much looking forward to meeting and getting to know students, families and team members who are new to me. I'd like to thank the many of you who have already made my first week of this exciting year so positive and welcoming.
I take great pride and comfort in that welcoming environment because, as an educator, a welcoming learning environment is something I have always strived to create and maintain in both the classrooms I've taught, and the schools where I've been on administrative duty.
As we look ahead, our team will continue to refine those next best teaching practices that provide students with a multitude of opportunities to achieve success. Learning goals and success criteria will allow our students to have a better understanding of their own learning, in addition to allowing opportunity for stheir voice within their classrooms.
At West Lynde P.S., we encourage our students to "Be the Best That They Can Be." As our team continues to provide learning activities for our students that are engaging and meaningful, there are many other ways our students can explore their own potential. We encourage our young lions, to take every advantage of the co-curricular activities and clubs that are offered throughout the school year. I have challenged both our team, and our students, to truly consider how they can "Be the Best That They Can Be" here at West Lynde P.S. during the 2015-2016 school year. Together, we will take risks, we will make mistakes, we will learn, we will support each other, we will reflect and we will refine what we do,….and we will be, the best that we can be!
