EXPLORING FAMILY STUDIES- HIF 1O1
This course is about your quality of life now and in the future. Students of all abilities will enjoy this course as it relates to your every day life.
This course explores some of the fundamental challenges that people face: how to meet basic needs, how to relate to others, how to manage resources, and how to become responsible members of society. Students will explore adolescent development and will have opportunities to develop interpersonal, decision-making and practical skills related to daily life. They will learn about the diverse ways in which families function in Canada.
At the end of the course, students will have been introduced to the many subject areas within our department: Fashion, Food and Nutrition, Raising and Caring for Children, Resource Management and Sociology of the Family.
Note: There is a fee associated with this course. This fee helps fund projects related to food preparation, sewing and child care.
