The Dramatic Arts program at Pine Ridge Secondary School offers a full four year program, with entry levels in grades 9 and 10, and later branches off into Drama in the community, and Dramatic Arts production in Grade 11 and 12. Throughout the program students will learn to discuss, construct, perform and analyze drama, and then reflect on the experience to develop an understanding of themselves, the art form, and the world around them. Students will be educated on different acting styles researching on how to create original works, and analyze the functions of playwright, director, actor, producer, designer, technician and audience. This is an excellent way for the student to decide which aspect of the dramatic arts is right for them.
Outside of the in class program, drama students will be involved in:
- Community & Family of Schools School Productions
- One or Two Play Productions during the year
- Individual Coaching and Training
- Subject Support (at lunch and after school)
