Frequently Asked Questions

When is my Library day?

Every day could be Library day. It just depends on whether the student's class has an actual Library day (Kindergarten and grade ones), or time to exchange their books during Period 1.

Who may take out books?

Staff, and students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 are invited to sign out books.

How many books may I take out?

It is recommended that students take out only one or two books at a time so that it is easier to keep tabs on, but the real number depends on projects and programming within the classroom.

For how long may I have a book?

Officially, students may have books for a 2-week period, but we understand if they need more time AS LONG AS THEY HAVE NOT LOST IT, and are still reading it.

What happens is a book is lost or damaged?

Happily, many lost books are found between now and the end of the school year. They are found in the strangest of places. A lost or damaged book will need to be replaced, or paid for by the end of the school year.

How can I find out more information?

Please call the school at 905-430-8755 or email Mrs. Hutchings at melissa.hutchings@ddsb.ca with any questions or concerns.
