Dear Parents and Guardians:
Student safety is our first priority. Please be aware that student supervision is only available in the morning from 8:15 a.m. to 8: 30 a.m. If you after the first bell at 8:30a.m., please have your child enter through the front door to be signed in at the office.Kiss N'Ride operates from 8:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m
. After the bell rings, staff on Kiss N'Ride must be in the classrooms to supervise students and begin the academic day. If you are dropping your child off after 8:30 a.m. please park your car safely in a parking spot or on the road and walk your child in through the front door to the office for a late slip.
We are very appreciative of the support of the Durham Regional Police who help us ensure the safety of our students and community members. They are working with us to monitor student safety in the parking lot. Do not park in any part of the Kiss N'Ride area from the entry to exit as it must be kept clear as a fire lane. Traffic must be moving continuously in Kiss N'Ride. Please ensure you are using the correct entry and exit to and from school property.
If you are picking up a child in the Kiss N'Ride at the end of the day, please remind them to get ready quickly, move to the front of the school and wait with the teachers on duty. If they have not arrived when you drive through, do not stop, loop around again until your child arrives. We must ensure continuous traffic flow and that no child is running through the parking lot for any reason as this is a serious safety issue.
As we are a Walking School,we encourage students to walk to school as often as possible. This will alleviate the congestion in the Kiss N'Ride, as well as promote healthy living through exercise.
We continue to look for volunteers to help support Kiss N'Ride. If you are available in the morning from 8:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. or from 3:05 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. please see the office.
We thank you for your cooperation and support as we work together with the goal of Student Safety.
