Preparing for the Future by Caring for Today
S.C.C.
The purpose of the S.C.C. is to help improve student achievement and enhance accountability through the active participation of parents in an advisory role; by making recommendations to the principal. Parental involvement is one of the most significant factors contributing to a child's success in school. When parents are involved in their child's education, the level of student achievement increases.
Membership on a school council benefits individuals involved:
  • being an important partner in the education system, whose views are valued
  • contributing to the shared goal of improving student achievement
  • having a vehicle through which to express opinions
  • keeping informed about what is happening at the school and board levels, and at the provincial level of education.
Our SCC meets once a month. All are welcome to attend meetings. Dates will be posted in newsletters and on this website. If you have any questions, please call the school or drop by to see us.
