This year, our Parents as Partners Symposium will ignite inquiry, imagination and innovation. The keynote speaker, Michael Furdyk, will share strategies of how global competencies will help ensure that all students develop the knowledge, skills and characteristics to become personally successful, economically productive and actively engaged citizens. Furdyk is co-founder of TakingITGlobal which provides innovative global education programs that empower youth to understand and act on the world's greatest challenges.
Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to attend two exciting workshops following the keynote. Students 13 and over will attend the keynote and then participate in a rotation of interactive STEM activities. Students between ages 4 and 12 will participate in interactive workshops starting at 8:30 am. Free daycare is provided for children aged 2 and 3.
The DDSB is committed to evolving our practices to support, enhance, celebrate and be responsive to the social and cultural realities of our students and families. It is important that parent voices are represented and heard.
This is a free event funded by the DDSB Parent Engagement. Registration is required at www.bit.ly/DDSBPAP2019
