Human Rights Student Conference

Approximately 200 student leaders from across the Durham District School Board (DDSB) will participate in the Human Rights Student Conference. They will hear the incredible story of Holocaust survivor Max Eisen. DDSB students will explore the Tour for Humanity Bus provided by Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies. A total of eight workshops will be available for the student participants, including: Indigenous Language, Global Inequality, Relating to the LGBTQ+ Community Through Real-life Experiences, and the Water Crisis presented by Me to We.

Throughout the day students will discuss the impact of the conference using Speaker's Corner. They will finish off the day with a trivia challenge for a fun way to share and show what they have learned.
