DDSB 8th Annual And Still We Rise Elementary Edition Conference

On Saturday, April 27th, Durham Black Educator's Network (DBEN) will host the 8th Annual And Still We Rise Elementary Conference with support from the Durham District School Board (DDSB).

The conference theme is "Be The Story," with a key focus on the arts. There will be entertainment, and local vendors will have items on display. This is a free event for students in Grades 4-8 and their families.

This year we welcome keynote speaker Sean Mauricette, Motivational Speaker, Producer, and Artist, who will engage the audience with a presentation tailored to the conference theme. Followed by the keynote, DDSB Educators Dawn Samuel and Matthew Sinclair will run a parent workshop titled "Navigating Pathways and Transitions." This valuable learning session will focus on providing parents/guardians with vital information about accessing resources to support their children's learning journeys. During that time, children will be engaged in their own workshops that encourage them to tell their stories, and to use their voices, to celebrate their unique and diverse identities.

Join us in inspiring students to be the story!
